What I Got for Christmas 2015

I always love seeing what other people got for presents on Christmas day and their birthdays, so I thought it would be nice to write up a little post on the gifts I myself received from friends and family on Christmas, and just explain what I love about them and why I got them. And also let me know what your favourite gift you received on Christmas!

I really wanted to upload this post on Boxing Day or the day after Christmas so it was still fresh in my mind, but I have been working non-stop for the past four days (damn retail jobs…) and I really had no spare time to even write. I don’t want this post to be show-offy or sound like I’m bragging in any way, it’s simply just to ramble about how much I love what I received and how much I appreciate those who bought them for me.

Gifts pictured:

Country Road Toiletry Bag

Topshop 70s Style Kimono

Urban Decay Naked Smokey Palette

Diptyque ‘Mimosa’ Bougie Parfumée Candle

Origins Original Skin Renewal Serum

Mimco Mini Blush Pouch

Mimco Large Matte Black Pouch

Jo Malone London ‘Lime Basil and Mandarin’ Scented Bougie Parfumée Candle

Origins VitaZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser

Lovisa Blue Panel Necklace

Artiste Manicare Brush Cleaner

Lorna Jane Signature Core ¾ Tights

Copper Tealight Candle Holder

Tigerlily Jacquard Beach Towel

All of this is what I wanted and more. I feel like you can really tell how much a person knows you by what they gift to you. And it seems my family and friends know me way too well! Having really started to love makeup and beauty this year, my family gave me the ever so beautiful Naked smokey palette, some lovely Origins skin care products (my favourite brand at the moment) to keep my face and skin nice and smooth, a makeup brush cleaner (much needed right now), and a toiletry bag to put it all in!

I also received what I think are the nicest smelling candles from my sister. Diptyque and Jo Malone are two of the best candle brands in the world, having such unique scents and beautiful packaging, so I was very excited to open these on Christmas morning. Candles, along with Mimco bags and pouches, are probably my most favourite material things in the world. And my family, and my best friend know it. This is why I received not one but two Mimco purses this Christmas, one a smaller size in a blush and rose gold tone, and the other bigger one, in black leather with a matte black brand label on the front. Mimco’s go with everything I own, and I have already been using these two to death.

My mum also bought me some really nice workout gear from Lorna Jane this year, maybe to push my new years resolution of finally getting toned and tanned into fruition! Exercise is made just bearable when you are wearing gorgeous active wear on your run or hike, and I think it might just motivate me to really get into a routine of going for walks and attending the gym…

And finally, a Tigerlily towel. I can’t tell you how many years I have been wanting one of these beach towels but have never bought one due to expense. And considering my favourite colour is orange, I couldn’t be happier with this gift! Tigerlily is known for its intricate prints and vibrant, boho styles of swimmers and beach accessories, and I feel like this towel embodies the brand, and my own summer style perfectly.

Overall, I am beyond happy with what I received from my loved ones, even when I didn’t need a thing! What did you guys get for Christmas?

  1. That is one fine holiday haul, for sure! That toiletry bag is super cute and I love the candles! I’ve been obsessed with Diptyque ever since I bought one in Paris and I agree, they smell lovely.

Gift wise, I was pretty spoiled this year. I actually wrote a similar blog post a few days ago so feel free to check it out 😊 Happy Christmas!
